Little Star School, the first English Medium School in Biswanath Chariali was established in the year 1978. The school has a very strenuous as well as colourful past when the founder – fathers of the institution with their sincere initiative and active co-operation could make their venture practicable. It was Mr. A.K. Ghosh, once Asst. Manager of Nilpur Tea Estate, who played an active role in bringing Ms. Sita Chetri to start with a Nursery School after the Kinder Garden pattern. Mr. Ghosh was constantly co-operated and co-ordinated by Late S.S. Mishra, the founder Chairman of the School. The efforts of Mr. Ghosh and Late Lalit Chandra Borah, the then Vice Principal of Biswanath College, who in the capacity of the first Vice-Chairman of the school played a pivotal role in the very making of the school . Prof. N.K.Dass, the founder Secretary of the school and Prof. B.G. Goswami had his immense contribution to the institution. Their efforts were constantly reciprocated by the enthusiastic enterprises from Mr. Arun Ch. Hazarika and Mr. Mohan Ch. Borah. There were many others too ,who spared no pains to bring the institution to lime light.
The school took a glorious academic excellence under the able Principalship of Mary Sarah Chukka, Ph.D., and her venture was further substantiated and accelerated by Late N.K. Biswas, M.A., whose administrative ability and intellectual demeanour could bring for the institution the credit of producing brilliant students batch after batch as recognized by the SEBA with active assistance of honorary coaching from Prof. Kshitish Saikia, Prof. N.K.Dass , Prof. M.Ahmed, Prof. Gagan Ch. Borah, Prof. Haridev Mahanta, Prof N. Gogoi, Mrs. Labanya Hazarika, Mr. Debi Sharmah and Prof. B.G. Goswami.
The glorious present of the school is thus maintained by the teachers and the taught , and is likely to remain so during the days to come by the concerned efforts of the members of the M.B. , Principal, teachers, students, guardians and the employees of the school.
